Monday - Handmade Hall of Fame - Ladies Godiva Horseshoes

Welcome once again to the Monday Handmade Hall of Fame! Today we're spotlighting the Ladies Godiva Riding Club and their decorated horse shoes!

The Ladies Godiva are a group of women who "recreate" Lady's Godiva's famous nude ride, but with painted bodysuits subbing in for birthday suits. Because they ride in nude bodysuits in front of thousands of parade-goers, I can pretty easily guess that they are a pretty brave, fun bunch even without knowing a single one of them personally.

In addition to doing individualized decorations for their horses, in a very clever equestrian nod to the "traditional" glittered Muses shoe, they distribute decorated horse shoes. Here are some horseshoe photos from their Facebook page:

And here are a few articles and photos of the Ladies Godiva and their decorated shoes:

There isn't a ton of information on the horseshoes online, and pictures are pretty scare. Of course, I imagine they're very rare. If anyone has any pictures of horse shoes they've caught, I would love to see them!

Wishing everyone a happy Monday, and a glittery week! I'm going to be in NOLA in a little less than two weeks and I'm counting down the days...so I hope the week goes quickly!
