This covers the same material in the written Cake Shoes tutorial (which can be found here), but in video form (some steps are easier to understand if you watch them, and some people just pick things up more readily if they can see things in action vs. reading directions).

Awesome video! Would love to see one of those for a detailed transfer. You truly are an inspiration when it comes to glittering shoes, purses, bottles, etc.!

DeleteNot particularly, just seeing the Sirens transfer and the one you had at Glittering 101 would love to know the steps to take in doing a more detailed transfer than just a single color lettering type. I want you to move back so you can be my "Glittutor" - master glitter goddess who gives private lessons!

DeleteI'm definitely trying this!! My mom loves yellow cake with chocolate icing and a shoe like that has her name all over it. Happy you did the video. It does make the process easier to understand and more approachable. I also like the idea of a red velvet cake shoe. I think you've created a cake shoe monster LOL
ReplyDeleteThat all sounds delicious!! I definitely recommend using the brown caulk for chocolate frosting - it's a tiny bit more expensive than plain white, but will look much more like chocolate than if you try to tint the white. Can't wait to see your shoes!!
Deletelove this video! started reading your blog with the iris sunglasses back in January and your posts just give me more inspiration. i would have loved to attend one of your workshops but i need to focus on sunglasses instead of shoes
ReplyDeleteI bet fake frosting would look adorable on sunglasses!! FYI, for the workshops I can totally do sunglasses! The glittering 101 content is pretty universal, and I've started letting ladies "pick their poison" in terms of throws - I've had shoes, purses, fedoras and bottles so far. My December workshop slot is spoken for (private group), but I'll definitely have more in the Spring (after Carnival, but there's always next year!) Thanks for reading!
